Who looks after the HR team whilst they are busy looking after everyone else?

February 19, 2021BrunoBlog, NewsletterNo Comments

With everything that is happening in the world right now, the expectation on HR professionals has never been higher.

From managing Covid restrictions, interpreting furlough guidance and managing countless redundancies, mental health issues, remote working, changing policies, 2020 was an extremely busy year for HR departments and 2021 is currently shaping up to be just as challenging, if not more! As companies become increasingly dependent on HR to make sure they are getting everything right, it is important to take care of your HR team and ensure they are supported with managing their wellbeing and workload.

Fundamentally, HR workers are, well, workers. They are still hired by a business, and their wellbeing should be approached in the same way as all other members of staff. For example, if they have a problem, they should still be able to come forward regarding this. Typically, most HR professionals will always put the needs of others first and forget about themselves – which in turn adds more pressure on their own wellbeing, so don’t forget to check in with your HR team!

Our profession is shining in this current time of crisis, but as demands upon HR continue to increase, HR do need to take the time to look after their own wellbeing.

You can’t pour from an empty cup after all!
